The Executive Council of the Regional Football Association, Volta Friday June 12, 2020 paid courtesy call on the National Sports Authority and the Volta Regional Coordinating Council.
The Council led by the RFA Chairman, Daniel Agbogah first visited the National Sports Authority to introduce members of the council to the Regional Director, Kwame Amponfi Jnr.

Welcoming the team, the Regional Director assured his support for the association and asked that they continually meet to discuss issues of interest towards the development of the game.
According Mr. Amponfi, as servants of the authority, they are paid to make sure the people who matter are empowered to develop their talents. He added that, as part of the authority’s mandate to support all federations, it has already forwarded a land request by the FA to the appropriate quarters for prompt attention. The FA is requesting for the space to build its Secretariat.

At the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the team was welcomed by the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Hon. Johnson Avuletey.
Mr. Agbogah explained plans put in place to grow the game in the region. This included a request to build a Secretariat, acquire offices for the nine functional football disctricts in the Volta and Oti Regions, revive juvenile games, deploy the “catch them young” policy to attract and develop referees and women football.
He also called on the minister to assist in getting the district assemblies appreciate the need to invest in sports with the assembly’s sports fund and other sources of finance so as to reduce social vices that some idle youth may engage in.
The Deputy Regional Minister, a former Voradep player, promised that he will take immediate steps on some of the proposals especially the land acquisition through the lands commission and then consult the Minister on others.
He used the platform to challenge the Exco to submit an action plan to the Coordinating Council that would serve as guide
According to him, whilst the government is committed to infrastructure development and support for football, a vibrant football industry would be attractive to potential investors and that the FA must be seen leading the way. He further tasked the Exco to tap the knowledge of people in the region who may not be directly involved in the game but have what it takes to drive support to clubs.
The Exco ended the day’s call to the family of former RFA Chairman, Francis Dogbatse who lost his wife early this year.
According to family sources, Mrs. Regina Adzo Dogbatse will be laid to rest at Agbozume on June 27, 2020.
