A book on Ghana’s politics and governance has been launched on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the Ghana Journalists Association Press Centre, Ho.

Mr. Harrison Kofi Belley – Author, Politics and Governance in the Fourth Republic of Ghana

It captures Ghana’s political events prior to the 1992 constitution, the elections from 1992 , proposals from political parties, reforms by the electoral commission and series of agreements and disagreements within Ghana’s political atmosphere.

It also delves deep into the history of some political parties in Ghana and their performance over the years, Ghana’s gain in power alternation from one party to another and the liberalisation of the media landscape.

The author has also recounted landmark cases from the Supreme Court of Ghana over electoral disputes, appointments of chief executives of some state institutions, the work of some institutions like the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice and the functions of parliament to enact laws.

On some emerging trends, the book speaks about the difficulty in separating party activities and government business, vigilantism and the need for the state to resource its institutions to properly function.

The launch was chaired by Member of Parliament for Ho West, Hon. Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah supported by President of E.P University College, Dr. Kenneth Nyalemegbe

The MP bought the first copy at One Thousand Cedis (1000.00)

Dr. Kenneth Nyalemegbe and Godwin Isubi bought the second and third copies respectively at Five Hundred Cedis (500.00)

Politics and Governance in the Fourth Republic of Ghana sells on the market at Fifty Cedis (50.00)
