With the exception of FIFA, Premier league, Division One and Women’s Premier League referees in the Volta Region who have already taken their fitness test for the year, all other referees are set to undertake their fitness test on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Ho Sports Stadium.
It’s a normal practice within the referees fraternity to have fitness tests every year and sometimes more than once in a season.
Qualified referees will then be tabled as officials for the next football season.
Those who may fail or be absent are always given a second chance for what is popularly called re-run, but we cannot confirm if that option is available after the weekend’s exercise.
Over 200 referees accross the Volta Region are expected to attend.
This is the first time, the Regional Football Association is organising the fitness test. It used to be the responsibility of the Referees Association of Ghana.
The Ex TV News team would be there to grab some moments.
