Ho Technical University lecturer launches Sports Support Initiative

A lecturer at the Marketing Department of Ho Technical University, Mr. Stanley Nelvis Glate has committed himself to support “man of the tournament” awards at the end of every division three middle league in the Ho Municipality, beginning from the ongoing Municipal Middle League which ends on Sunday October 3, 2021.

With the current initiative, the organising body, Ho Municipal Football Association is expected to name one outstanding player for recognition at the end of the middle league.

According to Mr. Glate who is also the former Assembly Member for Borsontoe Electoral Area, a sporting kit including a footwear would be presented to the “man of the tournament”.

He has also promised to seek support from other individuals and benevolent societies to extend similar gesture to athletics and volleyball in the shortest possible time whilst working towards a bigger plan to reach out to all sporting disciplines.

He made this known on Friday October 1, 2021 when he donated bags of sachet water to the organisers and presented “man of the match award” to Augustine Wiashie of Diamond FC after their 3-0 win against White Dove FC, at the Ho Sports Stadium.

He also paid glowing tribute to those who are investing their resources in the development of sports in the municipality and Volta Region.

Six division 3 clubs are battling for a sole slot to the regional division two league. They are Litsade FC, Soccer Family FC, African Stars, Diamond FC, Dzemeni Young Stars and White Dove.
