New comers Volta Rangers FC beat Akatsi All Stars FC in their maiden Zone 3 Access Bank Division One League campaign at the Ho Sports stadium on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
The two teams battled it out in the first 45 minutes which ended goalless. Both teams displayed good football but could not find the back of the net.
Skipper Hafiz Rahman scored from the penalty spot to give Volta Rangers the lead in the 63rd minute with Justice Kwame Akugre doubling the goals in the 85th minute.
All Stars pulled a late consolation goal courtesy Isaac Selase Vormawor to end the game 2-1.
Volta Rangers will travel to Tema in the Greater Accra Region to take on Na God FC while Akatsi All Stars hosting Attram De Visser Academy in their respective match day two fixtures on the weekend of October 6-8, 2022.
