Agric Minister resigns to join NPP flagbearer race

The Office of the President has confirmed the resignation of Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the Minister for Food and Agriculture.

The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has been tasked to act until a substantive replacement is made.

Dr. Akoto’s resignation follows that of Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyerematen. Both have expressed their interest to run for the flagbearership race in the New Patriotic Party.
