Ghana fails to automatically qualify from group B in the 2023 AFCON

The Black Stars of Ghana failed to automatically qualify to the round of 16 of the 2023 AFCON on Monday January 22, 2024 at the Stade Alassane Ouattara, Abidjan.

The Stars who took the lead on the 15th minutes through a penalty converted by Jordan Ayew and doubled the goals on the 70th minutes finished the game with 2-2 draw.
Mozambique came back strongly to pull a goal back on the 91st minutes through a penalty and finally dented Ghana’s hopes of qualifying with their 94th minute goal.

Ghana who will now hope to secure a progression through the third best ranked team sit 5th with two points.
Ghana will ride on the failure of Algeria, Zambia and Cameroon to qualify to the round of 16 of the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
