African Games 2023: Why Rose Yeboah won Gold but did not Qualify for the Olympics

Ghana clinched her tenth gold medal in the ongoing African Games 2023 in Accra through Rose Yeboah on Tuesday, 19th March, 2024.

The high Jumper won Gold for jumping as high as 1.94m and bettering her height record from Rabat, Morocco in in the year 2019 where she won her first gold medal with a jump of 1.84m.

The athletic events at the African Games this year are also qualifiers to 2024 Olympic Games at Paris later this year.

Even though, Rose Yeboah grabbed gold in her event, High Jump with personal best of 1.94m height, she failed to qualify as the qualification height for Olympics is 1.97m or more.

She will have to wait for the next opportunity to qualify for future Olympics Game after Paris.
