Baba Yara Sports Stadium Closed Down Temporarily.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi has been closed down ahead of 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifying fixture between Ghana and Central Africa Republic (CAR) on Monday, 10th June, 2024.

The decision according to Ghana Football Association is to give ample time to managers of the facility to improve the quality of the pitch before the qualifying fixture in Kumasi.

Ghana Premier League round 32 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics have therefore been rescheduled to be played at Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, 2nd June, 2024.

The Black Stars will face off Mali on 6th June, 2024 in Bamako and later play against Central Africa Republic on the 10th June, 2024 in Kumasi.

The senior national team, Black Stars are seeking their 5th Fifa World Cup qualification which would be hosted by USA, Mexico and Canada.
