Volta Hockey team wins L.K Agyemfra tournament, 2024.

Volta Hockey Team won the Second Edition of the L.K. Agyemfra tournament in Koforidua on Saturday June 1, 2024.

The Volta team defeated Multi sticks from Accra 1-0 through a second half strike by Awakey Desmond in their first game of the one day tournament.

Volta in the second game held host Koforidua Hockey team to a 0-0 draw before beating Suhum Hockey club by 3 goals to nil to be crowned champions of the tournament.

Head coach of the Volta side Peter Paul Osafo, congratulated his boys for a great job done. He added that their target is to be winning every tournament they participate in.

“I congratulate you for winning this tournament. This is going to be our target. Our target now is to win every tournament that we will participate in.”

The team manager, Mr. Joseph Ottoo has called for stakeholders’ support for the team so as to help build the team.

“I call on all the corporate bodies and individuals to help develop the game in the region.Our aim is that, players from the Volta Region will also get the opportunity to play in the national team.”

The team is expected to feature in tournaments before end of 2024.
