Paris 2024: Cuban Legendary Wrestler, Mijain Lopez retires

Leaving a historic memory, Wrestler Mijain Lopez retires immediately after winning his fifth consecutive gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the men’s 130KG category on Wednesday August 7,2024.

The cuban defeated Chile’s Acosta 6-0 to clinch his fifth straight Olympic gold medal at the ongoing Olympic games at Paris, France.

Writing history, Mijain won five consecutive gold medals at Beijing 2008 (120kg), London 2012(120), Rio 2016 (120), Tokyo 2020 (130kg), and now, Paris 2024 (130kg) making it the first in the discipline.

The cuban remarkably left his shoes on the mat just after winning his gold medal fight signalling his retirement from the game.
