Ho Sports stadium closed for maintenance work

The National Sports Authority in the Volta Region has announced the closure of the Ho Sports stadium for maintenance work from August to the second week of September, 2024.

According to the director Madam Joyce Datsa,the closure has become necessary so as to re-grass the pitch .

The director at a media engagement on Tuesday August 13, 2024 added that her outfit will renovate the dressing rooms and as well fix a new entrance tunnel before the commencement of the 2024/2025 football season.
” The short term is to make sure we get the pitch, the tunnel and the dressing rooms ready which will be used.We are going to repaint the rooms.”

On the readiness of the pitch before the commencement of the season,the director was optimistic that the stadium will be ready and open for use.
” I believe with adequate water the grasses will grow in time to get the pitch ready.”

The stadium is expected to be reopen before September 27, 2024 for the Access Bank Division one league games.

The Ho Sports Stadium has been designated as the home venue for two football clubs: Home Stars FC, a Division One club and Inter Allies, a former Ghana Premier League team, which has also submitted the stadium as their home venue to the Ghana Football Association.
