By: Julius Addae ODURO

The Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Divine RK Bosson, has partnered with boxing promoter Abubakar Sadick Akake and the Volta Boxing Federation to announce a boxing event, “Night of Honour and Appreciation,” scheduled for September 20, 2024, in Ho. The launch took place at the Ho Municipal Assembly on August 26, 2024.

Hon. Divine Richard Bosson stated that the event is part of his initiatives as MCE and parliamentary candidate to promote sports in the Municipality. He emphasized his focus on amateur boxers, saying, “My interest lies in identifying and nurturing talents to become international boxers and icons.”

He urged the media to promote the event to produce stars and provide opportunities for deserving individuals.

Mr. Abubakar Sadick Akake, the promoter, highlighted the need for the event to support the sport, saying, “Without boxers, no one will invest, so we need to showcase the talent.”

Enam Foster Dagadu, Chairman of Volta Boxing Federation, appealed to the media to promote the event, dispelling the perception that boxing is only for school dropouts. He encouraged public support for the sport.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Divine RK Bosson called on individuals and corporate bodies to support the event.
