Former Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan Disassociated himself from Partisan Politics

Former Black Stars player, Asamoah Gyan disassociated himself from partisan politics following a backlash on social media concerning his alleged affiliation to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The former Sunderland striker in a statement issued on 11th September, 2024 stated that he is independent from political influence “This is not about politics; I am fully independent from political influence.”

He further, reassured the people of Ghana that through Asamoah Gyan Foundation, Moah Green Foundation and the all regional games, they will build sports facilities, training centers and mentorship to nature young talents in all sporting discipline.

The celebrated footballer is the top scorer in the history of Ghana Black Stars.
