Ghanaian and Kenyan athletes win Ho Asogli Marathon

Ghana’s John Kudanu and Kenyan runner, Clementina Chelangat beat 42 and 12 others respectively in the male and female contest to win the 2024 Ho Asogli Marathon in Ho on Saturday September 28, 2024.

John Kudanu emerged winner of the male category completing the 25KM Marathon with a time of 1hour 10mins 40seconds and went home with Gh¢ 8,000.00 with products from Verna Mineral water.
John Kudanu is serving officer of the Ghana Armed Forces, Accra.

In the female category, Kumasi based Kenyan Clementina Chelangat was crowned champion with a finishing time of 1hour 17 mins 18 seconds.She also had a winning package of Gh¢2,000.00 and products from Verna Mineral water.

The Ho Asogli Marathon was part of the 2024 Asogli yam festival celebrated in Ho.Asogli yam festival is celebrated every year by the people of the Asogli state (Ho) in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The half marathon begun in Anyirawase and ended at OLA Senior High School.
Fifty-five (55) athletes participated in the Asogli Festival marathon,2024.

The first five athletes in the male and female categories were awarded with cash prizes and products from the head sponsor, Verna Mineral water.

12- year old Christabel Takyi was given a special award after her determination to compete among the mature athletes. She was given Gh¢300.00 and products from Verna Mineral water.
