Empowering Africa’s Future: 98 AI Trainers Certified in Ghana

The Knowledge Web Centre, in partnership with the Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana and supported by the African Diaspora Central Bank, has certified 98 AI trainers in Ghana as part of the AI Africa Project. The comprehensive training program was facilitated by Dr. David King Boison, CEO of Knowledge Web Centre, and his team of experts.

The certification ceremony, which took place on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Accra Digital Centre, marked a significant milestone in Africa’s technological advancement. The training program focused on AI Prompt Engineering, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning, equipping participants with cutting-edge skills to drive innovation and growth.

H.E Ambassador Hugh Aryee, Chairman of the Occasion and Vanuatu Trade Commissioner to Ghana, emphasized the profound impact the graduates can have on Africa’s future. “Today, you join a movement that is reshaping the narrative of Africa,” he said. “The skills you have acquired will enable you to tackle critical challenges in infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and more.”

Prof. Amevi Acakpovi, Acting Vice Chancellor of Accra Technical University, and Prof. Raphael Nyarkotey Obu, Founder and President of Nyarkotey University College of Holistic Medicine and Technology, also addressed the graduates, highlighting the importance of ethical considerations and innovative problem-solving.

The certified AI trainers were awarded certifications in Silver, Gold, and Platinum categories. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to distinguished students. Prince Dzramado was recognized as the overall best AI Trainer, while Philimon Gyabaa took home the award for Best Creative AI User. Dr. Adam Mahama was honored as the Best Islamic AI Trainer, and Princess Atupe Kemenyo was celebrated as the Young Rising African Trainer.

As these certified AI trainers embark on their journey, they carry with them the potential to drive meaningful change, uplift communities, and transform lives across Africa.
