Ho Central MP to Reward Responsible and Safe Drivers

Carnage on Ghana’s roads has become a major national concern, with lives lost almost daily. While many continue to grapple with solutions to the crisis, the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Richmond Edem Kpotosu, believes a new incentive scheme could make a difference.

Speaking to Ex TV and members of some transport unions, Hon. Kpotosu disclosed plans for a program that will evaluate drivers based on their commitment to responsible driving, safety practices, and the overall health of their vehicles. The initiative, he explained, will be managed in collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority. According to the MP, rewarding responsible drivers will not only boost morale but also encourage higher compliance with road safety standards across the municipality.

Beyond road safety, Hon. Kpotosu also highlighted his broader development agenda for Ho Central. He announced plans to reward the 20 best-performing students in the recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and reiterated his continuous support to the Municipal Assembly in driving investment into the area.

While acknowledging the enormity of the challenges facing his constituency—from unsafe roads to developmental needs—the MP stressed that he finds fulfillment in helping people solve life’s challenges as their lawmaker.
