After successful 4 days Fitness and Technical Training by the Ghana Football Association for fitness and technical instructors, Ho based Class One Referee and Technical Instructor with the Volta Regional Football Association, Richard Kumedzro is promising an improved performance in officiating ahead of the commencement of the new football season.

Mr. Kumedzro was part of a 6-man team from the Volta Region to have participated in the just ended GFA/FIFA course from October 2-5, 2021 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The two other instructors were retired referees, Frank Fudzi and Olivia Ayayi.
The fitnes team is made of Richard Tsey, Mighty Akuaka and Jerry Agortey.
In an interaction with Ex TV after Tuesday’s closing ceremony on the immediate impact of the course on referees, the procurement officer is assuring fans of improved performance from referees once the region is able to put a successful training programme together to transfer the knowledge into the knights of the whistle.

“If we are a able to organize successful training for our referees in the region, then fans should expect excellent performance from our referees”.
Seventy One Instructors made up of 38 Fitness Instructors and 33 Technical Instructors accross the country participated in the training.
These participants are expected to replicate similar training sessions in the country under the various regional football associations.

Renowned FIFA retired Referee Lim Kee Chong (Technical Instructor) and Mademba Mbacke (Fitness/Physical Instructor) were the two main facilitators of the training programme with support from the GFA Referees Manager Alexander Neequaye Kotey, Seidu Bomison, Innocentia Agbavitor, Richard Attifu and Christine Zigah – Chairperson of the Referees Committee, Emmanuella Aglago, Referees Assessor among others.
