Three local based players have been included in the Black Stars final 27-man squad announced on Monday, January 1, 2024.
Chris Hughton has included Ghana Premier League trio Richmond Lamptey (Asante Kotoko SC), Jonathan Sowah (Medeama SC) and Abdul Fatawu Hamid (Medeama SC) in his final 27-man squad ahead of AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.
The three players were among eleven (11) local players provisionally invited by the coach of the senior national team.
Meanwhile Thomas Partey has been dropped due to injury while Fatawu Issahaku is also reported to have been dropped due to his loan contract terms between English championship side Leicester City and Portugal topflight league side FC Porto.
The flagship continental championship is scheduled to kick off on January 13-February 11, 2024.
