African Games 2023: Ghana’s Black Sticks guaranteed at least Silver

The hockey tournament kicked start Sunday, 17th March, 2024, at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in the ongoing African games.

In the men’s category, the host beat their West African rivals, Nigeria with a late goal.

The men’s category has only three countries competing and all the teams are guaranteed a medal.

Ghana winning their opener means they will settle for Silver, if they fail to win their next match against Egypt.

However, a win against Egypt will automatically hand the Black Sticks a gold medal.

The women’s national team also beat Kenya 4-1 in their opener.
