African Games 2023: Benjamin Azamati, Barnabas Aggerh and Mary Boakye are 100m finalists

Benjamin Azamati is into the final of the men’s 100metres after running 10.41s. He once again slowed down getting to the end of the race and still finished 2nd. His target in the final is to win gold and clock 10.00s or less to qualify for the Olympic Games to be held in Paris later this year.

Benjamin’s fellow Ghanaian athlete, Barnabas Aggerh also booked 100 metres final after running 10.42s in the semifinals and finishing second in the first semifinal heat His eyes will be set on Olympic qualification and medal in the final.

In the women’s final, Ghana’s Mary Boakye will be hoping to better her performance and clinch gold medal for her motherland as she finished 3rd in heat 3 of 100 metres semi final with a time record of 11.64s.

The 100m finals will take place Tuesday 19th March, 2023 at University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
