African Games 2023: Ghana Black Satellites and Princesses Gun for Gold

The Black Satellites and Black Princesses of Ghana dispatched Senegal in their respective semi final matches to book slots at the finals of men’s and women’s football at the ongoing African Games 2023 in Accra.

Black Princesses – Ghana


The Satellites on Thursday, 19th March, 2023, at Accra sports stadium beat Senegal with an 84th minute goal by Michael Ephson to cruise to the final, to fight for gold, as they face Uganda on Friday, 22nd March, 2024, at 8:30pm local time (20:30 GMT) at Accra Sports Stadium.

Earlier on Monday 18th March, the Black Princesses have beaten Senegal convincingly by 3 goals to 1 to sail through to the final.

A Goal from Tracey Twum on the 19th minute and a brace from Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah was enough for the Princesses win the match. Senegal’s Rokhyatou Kande scored a consolation goal in the 54th minute of the game.

The Princesses will face their rivals Nigeria on Thursday, 21st March, 2024, at 8:30pm (20:30 GMT) at Cape Coast.
