Presidential Candidate of Ghana Union Movement Tours Volta Region

The Presidential Candidate of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrew, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, last week embarked on a day working visit of the Volta Region.

The Leader of GUM kickstarted the tour of the Region with a durbar at the North Tongu Constituency where he interacted with chiefs, elders, party executives, parliamentary candidate and citizens of the Traditional Area at Juapong.

From the North Tongu Constituency, Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrew proceeded to the Ho West Constituency where he addressed another durbar with the chiefs and a cross section of people from the Abutia Kissifli and its environs.

Speaking at the durbar, the Leader of GUM said: “If God permits and we win the next elections, we will put in place structures to ensure that taxes and revenues collected in the locality remains there for the development of the community. I pledge to work with you for the transformation of the community and the region as a whole”.

He promised to seriously tackle the issue of unemployment and revamp the abandoned Abutia State Farms which used to be a hub for the production of maize and cassava.

He added that, it is also his wish to introduce old age benefit policy for cater for all aged persons in the country.

The Leader of GUM proceeded to Sokode in the Ho Central Constituency, where his delegation was received by Togbe Adintsri II, a divisional chief of the Traditional Area.

From Sokode, he proceeded to Ho Zongo Central Mosque where he interacted with the Chief Imam and his elders and outlined his vision for the region and the presidency.

From Ho, the Presidential Candidate stormed Anyirawase and Dededo Communities, all in the Ho West Constituency where he met with traditional rulers, opinion leaders, organised groups, supporters, members and activists of the GUM.

During the interactions and engagements, Osofo Kyiri Abosom said the ideology of the movement was to revisit the developmental agenda of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, which focused on massive industrialization across the country to propel national development.

He disclosed that the good works by the first president were abandoned both by the NDC and the NPP and believed his party would be the only government that would lead the nation to its promised land when voted for in the 2020 general elections.

The Founder of the Ghana Union Movement, Osofo Kyiri Abosom, is also the founder and leader of the Life Assembly Worship Centre.
The aim of GUM is to address the challenges confronting the nation.
The party, though new in Ghana’s political front, has received massive endorsement across the length and breadth of the country.
