Colonel Kwadwo Damoah Sacked as Commisioner of Customs

The commissioner of the custom division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Colonel Kwadwo Damoah has been relieved off his position by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

This was communicated in a statement signed by the secretary to the president, Nana Bediatuo Asante directing Colonel Retired Kwadwo Damoah to hand over his duties and office to the acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Service), Mr. Seidu Iddrisu Iddisah who will act as the Commissioner (Custom Division) pending the president substantive appointment.

Col. Kwadwo Damoah has been at post despite the expiration of his contract dated far back 13th October, 2021.

He was recently indicted in a corruption relating acts with Labianca Company Limited. Special Prosecutor investigating report unraveled that, there was undervaluing of an import tax liability of Ghs1 million due Labianca Company Limited and the shortfall revenue has been recovered by the office of the Special Prosecutor.
