Organisers of the 6th Edition of the just ended Volta Fair in Ho have recognised and honoured some individuals who have distinguished themselves as either athletes, administrators or sponsors of sporting disciplines in the Volta Region of Ghana at its Sports Summit on Thursday December 7, 2023.
Notable athletes include Joseph Agbeko, 2 times Bantamweight World Champion and 4 times National Milo Marathon winner in 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2021, Godwin Adukpo. Others are former Black Queens Goalkeeper, Fafali Dumehasi, former Ho Mighty Eagles and Black Stars player, Obed Aguadze and another former Ghana International, William Klutse.

Three times Ghana beach soccer champions, Keta Sunset Sports, Organizer of Ghana Junior Olympic Championship, Elorm Amenakpor, Tennis player, Joseph Nacel, Volley player, Johnson Ablorde, basketball coach, Charles Gomadonku co-founder of handball in Ghana in 1975, S. K. Hlordze were also honored. Two sports philanthropists Michigan Awoonor Woollams, Justus Joe Ayivor popularly known as Afe Lotto were also decorated. Female cycling promotor Vida Vivie and Amen Ametor were not left out.

Posthumous awards went to referees Carl Amevor and Albert Pythias Agbovi and Prince Amartey
The Summit also featured key speakers including the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter Twumasi, Sports Editor of Graphic Sports and Former Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Maurice Quansah, renowned marketing consultant, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, among others.

The summit discussed sports policies, financing, infrastructure, investment, marketing, strategy talent identification and development. A resolution has been made for form a private sector led to start a project.
