Volta Regional Minister Supports Media Houses with Laptops

Volta Regional Minister, Hon James Gunu, has presented laptops to key media houses and institutions in the region. The beneficiaries include the Information Services Department, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s Volta Star Radio, Graphic Communications Group, and The Ghana News Agency.

The minister also extended a similar gesture to the Volta Chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association. The donation, made on Monday, June 23, 2025, is aimed at supporting the activities of these institutions in disseminating government information to the public.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Minister Gunu emphasized the crucial role the media plays in highlighting government projects and initiatives in the region. He cited several developmental projects, including the sea defence project and auxiliary facilities at Aflao, the Aflao market, the 24-hour Hub in Adaklu, and plans to establish an aircraft training and maintenance service centre at the Ho Airport with private sector support.

“The media is the bridge between the government and the people,” Minister Gunu said. “Through your reporting, the public gets to know about the projects and initiatives that are shaping our region. These laptops are a small token of appreciation for your hard work and dedication.”

The minister’s gesture is seen as a boost to the media houses, enabling them to enhance their reporting and storytelling capabilities. The laptops were received with gratitude by the representatives of the media institutions, who pledged to continue their role in keeping the public informed about government activities in the region.
