A new leadership team for the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in the Volta and Oti Regions has officially assumed office following a swearing-in ceremony held in Ho. His Honour Osman Abdul Hakeem, a Circuit Court Judge, administered the oath of office to the five-member team on Friday, July 11, 2025.
Dr. Harrison Belley, a lecturer at Ho Technical University, now leads the Volta Regional branch as Chairman. He is joined by Ivy Setordjie, Joy News’ Volta Region Correspondent, and Lambert Atsivor, Secretary, who also serves with Ho Technical University’s Directorate of Public Affairs and is Editor of Volta Online. King Freeman Xorlali Nutsukpoe of GBC’s Volta Star Radio takes on the role of Treasurer.
In the newly created Oti Region branch, Nana Kwabena Ntow of Beyond FM will serve as Chairman. The split from the Volta Region marks a new phase of growth and localized representation for journalists in Oti Region.
The executives will serve a three-year term, steering the affairs of the association in their respective regions and advocating for the welfare of media practitioners.
