McDan Aviation launched Private Jets terminal at KIA

Ghana has scored more points in its quest to become the leading aviation destination in West Africa sub Sahara region.
Ghana’s Kotoka International Airport (KIA) is the fourth African country and Second West Africa country to have private jet terminal after Egypt’s Cairo International Airport, the second busiest international airport, Cape Town International Airport in South Africa and Murtala Muhammed International in Nigeria.


The Terminal 1 of the Kotoka International Airport used to serve the main domestic and regional destinations before October, 2018 when new terminal, terminal 3 was opened and took over the services of the Terminal 1 except domestic flight services.

However, the Terminal 1 has been released to McDan shipping and Aviation for stocking goods.

In an colorful ceremony, McDan group of Companies launched the Private Jet Aviation Center at Kotoka International Airport, Terminal 1 in Accra.

The Chief Executive Officer of McDan group, Dr. Daniel McKorley said, Now private jet is no more a luxury and his goal is to build what he can for the country. “My goal as an individual is to put my country as a brand to be recognize in the world, my goal as an individual is to build what I can build for my country. McDan aviation is not for McDan but it is for the business community and top class Executives and this is the only place we would be recongized in the entire business community with the introduction of intercontinental free trade…,…… now private jet is no more a luxury. A lot of people think it is luxury, private jet is no more a luxury and this is what McDan aviation is bringing to the doorstep of the diplomatic core, the politicians and the business community as a whole”.

The successful Ghanaian businessman called on the business community to find opportunities in the country and invest in them. “We must have the can do spirit no matter how difficult the terrain is, we have to defile all odds and do it, because this is our country and we have to stand out for what is good. So I’m calling on all the business community to look within, we can not invest outside this country where there are a lot of business opportunities here.”

The ultramodern FBO terminal has Presidential suite, Executives VIP lounge, Bar, Immigration Visa on arrival points.

The terminal would be commercialized and expected to create job opportunities for over 400 people.
