VR: Ho Municipal Assembly celebrates World Menstrual Day

As part of the world menstrual hygiene day celebration, the Ho Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Ho Municipal Education Directorate, National Service Personnel Association and Ho Municipal Health Directorate commemorated the day with the students of Ho Bankoe EP Primary and Junior High School on Wednesday May 29, 2025 in the Ho Bankoe E.P Church auditorium.

The day which was celebrated on the theme: “Together for a period friendly Ghana”, brought together learners of Ho Bankoe E.P Schools. The event which targeted the girls, focused on how the girls can take good care of themselves especially during their menstruation.

Mrs. Paulina Nneka Aduba, a senior nurse from the Ho Municipal Health Directorate took the girls through the menstrual cycle and how to stay healthy during their periods.

She encouraged the boys to show support to the girls during their menstruation.

” Do not tease the girls just because of menstruation. Menstruation is not a curse. The teasing makes the girls feel bad”.

The Girl child coordinator at the Ho Municipal Education Directorate, Mrs.Seyram Ama Geni-Aidam also demonstrated the ways of keeping a good hygiene during menstruation to the girls.

The boys at the event were also taken through the process of fixing sanitary pads so as to educate their sisters at home.

To climax the celebration,each of the girls in attendance was given two packs of sanitary pads.
